Today’s young boys and men face far greater challenges than many of us did when we were growing up. Many of us would agree with that statement. Don’t you find it interesting that, even with all the social activities that are available for young boys and young men, so many still seem to get “swept away with the tide of the culture?” Don’t you find it so unnerving, even after trying so hard to get your son(s) or grandson(s) to live a wholesome life, that they still get pulled violently hard “into the fast lanes?”

Here at First Baptist Church of La Plata, we don’t have all the answers. As a matter of fact you can probably find tons of literature out there on the “way” to rear your son(s) or grandson(s). We only know One Way. Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” The hearts of our men is to teach young men exactly what that means and how that looks in our daily walk. If your son(s) or grandson(s) seems to be struggling in life, would you give him a chance to come join our RA group?

The RAs are boys in First through Sixth Grade that are striving to develop a Christ-like mind in all they do.

Here are just few of their upcoming events:

- Plans are being made to have more food drives to support the Thanksgiving and Christmas food basket programs.

- An Associational meeting was held January 28th. The focus of this meeting was to prepare the churches in the Association for the upcoming events scheduled, such as:

   > Oct 15th Hiking the Blue Ridge
