Outreach & Fellowship

The First Baptist Church of La Plata works to create community - both amongst members, and with people locally and globally. We offer a number of opportunities for outreach, as well as fellowship dinners for our members. We hope you will join us in sharing God's love with others.

UPWARD Sports
Upward is a nationwide sports league whose mission is "promoting the discovery of Jesus through sports"

AWANA Clubs
The goal of AWANA is to reach boys and girls with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. We are committed to sharing Christ’s love with your child, and working together with you to help them grow in their faith and become unashamed servants of God.

Vacation Bible School
A summer week-long outreach to local children and youth. It is always a week of fun and learning

First Baptist Church of La Plata Educational Ministry for Homeschoolers
FBCLPEM is a state recognized oversight provider for home educating families - also known as an umbrella group

Operation Christmas Child (OCC)
OCC is a ministry of Samaritan's Purse. By packing a simple shoebox with gifts, you can show the love of Jesus to a child who has never heard the Gospel. First Baptist Church of La Plata is an OCC collection location

Fellowship Dinners
We host quarterly fellowship dinners, as well as gatherings around holidays and special occasions. July 3rd Event
DUE TO THE CANCELLATION OF FIREWORKS THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED FOR 2020
Every July 3rd, from 6:30pm - 10:00pm, we host a celebration with games, food, and other fun surprises for the whole family while enjoying a fireworks display put on by our neighboring country club. All activities are free, but bring a blanket or chairs for your family to watch the show.

Trunk or Treat
We invite you to a safe and fun trick or treat alternative - our annual Trunk or Treat! Enjoy games and all the candy you can handle every October 31st, from 6:30pm - 8:00pm. If the weather forecast is bad, be sure to check the church calendar for alternate plans

We host food drives and basket giveaways, mission trips, and other outreach activities throughout the year. Be sure to keep an eye on upcoming events!
