Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. General Douglas MacArthur was forced to leave the Philippines in 1942 by a direct order from the President of the Untied States; as he left, MacArthur famously said, “I shall return.” Following multiple victories in the Pacific Theater, on this date in history in 1944, General MacArthur waded ashore on the Philippino island of Leyte and announced on a radio broadcast that same day, “People of the Philippines, I have returned.” In similar fashion, Jesus has promised His own return to this earth. In John 14:3 Jesus said, “And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself that where I am, there ye may be also.” Jesus’ first visit to earth was as the humble Lamb of God; Jesus’ return visit will be as the victorious Lion of Judah. Will Jesus announce upon His return that He has returned? I don’t think so; it won’t be necessary, because Revelation 1:7 declares that when He does return, “every eye shall see Him…” Jesus will return as King of kings and Lord of lords and will establish His earthly, millennial kingdom fulfilling all of the Old Testament promises and prophesies about the earth in general and the land of Israel in particular. Are you ready for the return of Christ? I am, and I hope you are, too.
