Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. On this date in history, in 1895, X-rays were accidentally discovered by Wilhelm Rontgen. After an intense series of experiments to verify his discovery, Rontgen published his findings. Not knowing what else to call them, Rontgen named the newly discovered rays “X-rays,” where X is unknown. The first x-ray in history was of a human hand, that of Rontgen’s wife, on December 28, which just so happens to be my birthday. Doctors realized the usefulness of xrays immediately and began using them for clinical diagnostics as early as February 1896, just three months after their discovery. The general public got caught up in the x-ray craze and began getting bone portraits made. Scientists began x-raying everything they could find. Lead underwear was also marketed to thwart the success of purported xray glasses. Shoe stores used x-rays to allow customers to see the bones in their feet all the way into the 1950’s. God does not need x-rays—He sees and knows everything, both inside and out; however, God is primarily concerned with our insides as stated in I Samuel 16:7, “…man looketh on the outward appearance, but the Lord looketh on the heart.” What does God see when He looks into your heart? I hope He sees His Spirit Who moved in there the moment you were saved. If He’s not there, He can be by grace through faith in Christ.
