Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Did you hear about the violent street fight in Plymouth, Minnesota last Friday? The altercation was so serious that the police were called. When police arrived on the scene, the two fighters were on the pavement literally locked in mortal combat and screeching strangely at each other. Not knowing what else to do, the police officer decided to throw a blanket over the fighters hoping this would calm them down and stop the epic battle; however, when the officer approached the fighters with the blanket, the fighters got in a couple last licks on each other and fled the scene. The officer did not and could not give chase, because the combatants flew away. You see, the street fighters were actually two bald eagles who were having a territorial dispute on the ground. As our national bird, bald eagles seem too important and too majestic to become involved in a common street fight, but bald eagles are just animals who function according to their God-given survival instincts—which include fighting. Probably the most popular Bible verse about eagles is Isaiah 40:31 which states, “But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint.” When we patiently serve God, He provides what we need when we need it to accomplish His will.
