Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Did you know that there is an inverse relationship between the outside temperature and the likelihood of your car being stolen? As the temperature decreases, the number of stolen cars increases, and the Maryland State Police are warning the public about it. You see, when it is cold outside, people start their cars to warm them up; while the owners are inside their homes, car thieves help themselves. According to the Maryland Vehicle Theft Prevention Council, a car is stolen every 49 minutes in Maryland and every 39 seconds across the nation. Not only is leaving your car running while unattended unwise, it is also against the law; police can issue a ticket carrying a $70 fine and 1 point for this violation. I bought Debbie a remote starter for her car a few years ago, and it requires the doors to be locked in order to start and stay running; I am now wondering if it is even legal. The Bible teaches that there is not an inverse but a direct relationship between how much we hear God’s Word and how much our faith grows. Romans 10:17 states, “So then faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.” If you want more faith, get more of the Word. In addition to reading the Bible on your own, if you are not currently attending Sunday School, Sunday night, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday opportunities, give them a try and watch your faith grow!
