Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. According to Psalms 127:2, sleep is a gift from God; however, neither too much sleep nor not enough sleep is good. My older daughter, Jessica, slept 22 hours a day during her high school bout with mononucleosis—I had to check on her throughout the day to make sure was still breathing! Did you know that even healthy people spend a third of our lives sleeping? Oversleeping can also be a frustrating experience—especially when you end up being late for school, work, or an important appointment or meeting. I remember oversleeping a statistics final exam in college; had my friend not called to wake me up, I would have failed the class! Just yesterday, the exhausted mayor of Mykolaiv in Ukraine overslept and ended up being late for work. This turned out to be a good thing, because when he arrived at work, it had been bombed by the Russians. It seems the Russians are attempting to cause political chaos by kidnapping or killing Ukraine’s politicians even as they attempt to cause military chaos by killing Ukraine’s military leaders. This mayor received a double blessing from God: not only did he get to sleep, but he was able to sleep right through his own assassination attempt!
