Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. I am sure money and publicity is behind it, but I would never own or market the latest Nike sneakers. Manufactured by Nike but modified by another company, these shoes are called “Satan Shoes.” The shoes are red, have a brass pentagram on the outside and a printed pentagram on the insole, an upside down cross on the tongue, have Luke 10:18 printed on the side, contain a drop of human blood in the soles, and only six hundred sixty-six pairs exist. The 666 pairs sold out within the first minute they went on sale. The shoes cost $1018.00 for Luke 10:18 where Jesus says, “…I beheld Satan as lightening fall from heaven.” Satan is a very real and powerful being of which believers are warned to beware in I Peter 5:8, “…your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about seeking whom he may devour.” We are to not only watch out for Satan but seek to avoid him at all costs. Owning and/or marketing these “Satan shoes” is either making a mockery of biblical truth, inviting Satan himself to walk with you, or both. This is not only foolish—it is dangerous. The only redeeming aspect to these shoes is that those who wear them will be walking all over the symbols that represent the devil; and just like the serpent in the Garden of Eden, these “Satan shoes” will be eating dust with every step they take.
