Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Familiar Friday” is from Friday, October 22, 2020. The latest advancement in cell phone technology is known as 5G, or 5th generation. This technology is super fast and is supposed to make our phones faster and our lives better. The current industry standard is known as 4G, or 4th generation, and is being used worldwide. Nokia and NASA have teamed up to install a new 4G network by 2022. This seems to be backward thinking since 5G is just over the horizon, but the new 4G network is not being built here on earth; it is being built on the moon in preparation for future lunar habitation. This whole idea irritates me because there are still many places in LaPlata where I can’t get a decent 4G or even 3G signal, but people will be walking on the moon with 5bars of 4G signal! I wonder what a cell phone plan on the moon will cost? I wonder how you will call or text someone with those bulky spacesuit gloves? I wonder if astronauts will drop their cell phones in the toilet like here on earth? If you do drop your cell phone in the toilet, do you have to put it in rice or can you use moon dust? I just can’t imagine someone walking around on the moon asking, “Can you hear me now?” We are introduced to the moon in Genesis chapter 1:16 on the fourth day of creation. The moon was very much a part of OT daily life which was based on the lunar cycle. The moon will be featured in the endtimes as well as it turns to blood, or red in color. If cell service is activated on the moon, and people do colonize there, nothing will change: God will still be sovereign, and people will still be sinners in need of a Savior.
