Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. I love to eat at McDonald’s, but I don’t do it very often. When I was a child, my parents would take me to McDonald’s to celebrate my report cards, and I would always eat the same thing: 4 hamburgers, a large fry, and a strawberry milkshake. I am not a fan of Chicken McNuggets, but I will eat them if they are offered. I always thought the nuggets were essentially a uniform shape, but I just recently learned that there are four distinct shapes to make eating them more fun; the four shapes are: a ball, a bell, a boot, and a bow tie. Who knew? Who cares? The most famous chicken in history debuted this week 2000 years ago. Jesus told Peter that Peter would deny Him three times before the rooster crowed. We don’t know whose rooster it was or whatever happened to it, but that rooster crowed right on cue as prophesied by Jesus. Luke 22:60-61 tells the story picking up at Peter’s third denial: “And Peter said, Man, I know not what thou sayest. And immediately, while he yet spake, the cock crew. And the Lord turned and looked upon Peter…” What was that look from Jesus? Was it, “I told you so?” Was it, “How could you?” or was it, “I still love you.” I’m voting for, “I still love you.” Jesus later restored Peter three times: once for each denial. Why? Because He never stopped loving Peter, and He will never stop loving us.
