Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Last weekend, San Francisco police pulled over a car for driving at night without its headlights on. When police approached the driver’s side window, they realized it would be difficult to write the driver a citation, because there was no driver! Not only was there nobody driving the car, there wasn’t even anybody in the car. The police officers contacted the General Motors owned Cruise driverless car subsidiary to explain the situation. The issue was corrected and no ticket was issued. I was impressed that the driverless car knew to pull over when it sensed police lights flashing behind it. In the future, will we be pulled over by driverless police cars? What will happen when a driverless police car pulls over a driverless vehicle? It’s a brave new world! Thankfully, unlike that driverless vehicle, once God saves us by grace through faith in Christ, He does not leave us alone; instead, He gives us His indwelling Holy Spirit to guide us, comfort us, convict us, and help us. Jesus put it like this in John 14:16-17, “And I will pray the Father, and He shall give you another Comforter that He may abide with you forever; even the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth Him not neither knoweth Him, but ye know Him for He dwelleth with you and shall be in you.” God saves us, keeps us, and indwells us. We never drive alone.
