Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Wednesday, November 18, 2020. I’ve heard of pennies from Heaven, but a guy from Indonesia became a millionaire when his house got hit by a meteorite. I’m not sure why the rock is worth so much; I guess it’s because scientists incorrectly believe that the rock is 4.5 billion years old, give or take, and they want to study it. I’ve got news for those scientists, that space rock is the same age as any ordinary rock here on earth—they were all created by the same God at the same time. But, you know what they say, “A fool and his money are soon parted.” Of course, the rock could have killed the man as it crashed through his roof, and that would have been OK, because the man is a coffin maker by trade; in fact, he was building a coffin in his front yard at the very moment the meteorite hit. There’s no denying it, this guy became an instant rock star in his hometown. So what does this 33 year old man plan to do with his new-found wealth? First, he plans to retire; and second, he plans to build a church for his community. This guy just became my favorite Indonesian; I just hope he builds a Baptist church.
