Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Do you like ice cream? Do you like Sponge Bob Square Pants? A four year old in Brooklyn, New York, liked Sponge Bob ice cream so much that he ordered 918 pieces of it from Amazon online at a cost of $2600.00 and had it shipped to his aunt’s house. Once the four year old’s mom found out what had happened, she tried to send the order back to Amazon, but was told that ice cream is non-returnable/non-refundable. Thankfully, a friend set up a Go-Fund-Me account to raise money to pay off the hefty ice cream bill. The effort raised $11,000.00, and the mother announced that she would put the extra money raised toward her son’s future education. Back in Pennsylvania, I was an ice cream man, or goody-goody man. I owned and operated a Dukes of Hazard-colored orange ice cream truck called, “Dixie Delites.” Emblazoned across the bottom of the truck was our company verse, “Psalm 34:8 O taste and see that the Lord is good.” We started the business to teach our children how to run a business; our children were responsible for ordering stock, loading the freezers, counting money, making bank deposits, balancing the checkbook, deciding where to donate the tithe, and working the retail window. We had a lot of fun and had many strange experiences, but we determined that the ice cream business, like everything else we had, belonged to God; so we sought to glorify Him with it. We witnessed, gave out Bibles, promoted Vacation Bible Schools, and invited people to church all while conducting business. I Corinthians 10:31 says, “…whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” Are you glorifying God while you do what you do? If not, start glorifying Him today.
