Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. We are all shocked and saddened by the most recent school shooting in Uvalde, TX. Regardless of law enforcement response, the shooter displayed pure evil, and I suspect demonic possession. Did you know there were at least 12 other mass shootings over the Memorial Day weekend? Why all of the mass shootings? Analysts quickly accuse the symptoms but never the cause; predictably, they blame guns, video games, free speech, social media, and politics. They miss one huge detail: none of these shootings are perpetrated by females—only males, yet the females are subjected to the same negative influences as the males. Dr Warren Ferrell, by no means a conservative, wrote the book, “The Boy Crisis” which concludes that guns are not the problem—parents are, and dads in particular. Absentee fathers due to divorce, employment, or death are affecting our boys and men in very dangerous and often violent ways. Strengthening the nuclear family designed by God yet despised by the left is what boys–and girls–desperately need to help them function normally in society. More than anything else, though, the citizens of our city, county, state, nation, and world need a personal relationship with God by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. Only when the Prince of Peace rules over a heart at peace will there be peace.
