God’s Grace with Gary 6/2/22

Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Thursday, December 10, 2020. Some like it hot, they say, but the Chinese like it very hot. How hot? Ten times hotter than the core of the sun, or 270 million degrees Fahrenheit. A nuclear reactor, affectionately called the “artificial sun,” has been powered up in China to provide electricity and scientific collaboration. Working with scientists in France, China’s artificial sun hopes to achieve nuclear fusion, the process that powers the actual sun. Fusion merges atoms while fission splits atoms; nuclear fission has been around since the 1940’s, but nuclear fusion has only been achieved in laboratories. If nuclear fission is successfully harnessed, it will provide a nearly limitless supply of power. It is amazing that scientists are working so hard and so long on accomplishing something that God just spoke into existence—the sun and other stars. On another angle, the Bible clearly teaches that Hell is a place of fire, but I wonder what powers the fires of hell? Perhaps the same process that powers the stars. While some may like it hot, no one will like the hot of hell. Ensure that by grace through faith in Christ you will spend eternity in heaven not hell—one place is hot, the other is not.
