Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. The US Supreme Court has famously overturned Roe. v. Wade, but has also championed religious liberty rights. Joseph Kennedy, a public high school football coach in Washington State, began praying on the 50 yard line after games. He did not pray over the loudspeaker nor did he require others to join him. Others did join him, however, including students. The school district saw this as an establishment of religion since the coach was a government employee. The coach insisted that he was acting as a private citizen expressing his First Amendment rights of freedom of speech and religion. This is obvious, but godless, demonic powers, which Paul calls “Principalities and against powers against the rulers of darkness of this world against spiritual wickedness in high places” in Ephesians 6:12, seek to erase all vestiges of faith from our culture using the misunderstood Jeffersonian coin of phrase, “separation of church and state.” This phrase is not in the US Constitution, but it was in the Constitution of the former USSR! While our rights come from God, they are enumerated in our constitution to remind all of us what they are. We are grateful when our leaders recognize and rule in favor of our God-given rights.
