God’s Grace with Gary 6/8/22

Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Have you heard the latest casualty of the supply chain crisis? Brace yourselves: it’s popcorn. Movie theater owners are very concerned that popcorn will not be available for their patrons this summer; additionally, popcorn serving containers are also in short supply I can understand theater owners’ concern; I don’t really care for popcorn—except at the movies; then, I get the largest bucket available and ask for extra, extra butter. The theater we used to visit back in Pittsburgh had a self-service butter dispenser: I spent a lot of time at that dispenser. I’m pretty sure I don’t like popcorn–I just like butter! So with the shortage of popcorn and popcorn containers will come higher prices for both, if your theater even has them. Combining that with the $9.17 average movie ticket price and a drink, and a single trip to the movies this summer will set you back about 25 bucks. Thankfully God’s grace is never in short supply, and it is as free as it always has been. Jesus paid the price for our salvation on the cross and rose from the grave to ensure our eternal life. That’s no movie script—that’s the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Salvation is for free forever!
