Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. The prince of Saudi Arabia has an ambitious, $1 trillion plan to build a skyscraper 75 miles long that will house 5 million people. Consisting of two parallel buildings that are each 1600 feet tall, the project has been dubbed “The Mirror Line”: not only do the two buildings mirror each other, they will be covered in reflective one way glass. The buildings will run through desert, over mountains, and across coastal areas. The two buildings will be connected to each other via enclosed walkways. Gaps will be built into the building tops to allow the buildings to bend due to the curvature of the earth which equals 8 inches per mile. When completed, this will be the largest man-made structure on earth. The prince is eyeing a 2030 completion date—just 8 years from now; engineers think 2070 is more likely. One way glass reminds me of how God sees us. When you are inside the glass, you can see out; when you are outside the glass, you see your own reflection. In our relationship with God, we are inside looking out: we see God. God is outside, and what He sees is Himself, His holiness, and His righteousness. We have no righteousness of our own. Isaiah 64:6 says, “…all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags…” Thank God that when He sees me, He sees His righteousness!
