Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Now some good news from Pennsylvania where I used to live: The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum got a horse. The trolley museum owns and operates a fleet of trolley cars preserving the history of this mode of transportation for future generations. Prior to electrification, trolleys were pulled by horses. The trolley museum had a horse drawn trolley but no horse. You might say they got the cart before the horse. Lowry’s Western Shop in Washington, PA, had a sign with a full-size fiberglass horse atop that was knocked down by a delivery truck back in January. Rather than scrap the horse, it was donated to the museum and restored by a local body shop. The museum’s executive director said, “The horse really helps to better tell the story of animal-powered transit in the 19th century.” Recycling or re-purposing is a wonderful way to get more use out of used or damaged items. I love to recycle, but I don’t want the government forcing me to recycle. I like how recycling here in Charles County is voluntary. We are all ruined by sin, yet God picks us up, cleans us up, and raises us up as His children. Ephesians 2:4-5 states, “But God Who is rich in mercy for His great love wherewith He loved us—even when we were dead in our sins—hath quickened us together with Christ…and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
