Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Tuesday, January 21, 2021. Who is the highest paid employee of the 3.55 million-employee federal government? In the private sector, Presidents, or CEO’s, are the highest paid; so it follows that the President of the United States, the CEO of the federal government, would have the highest salary. The president’s salary is set at $400,000, but he is not the highest paid. Dr. Anthony Faucci of The Coronavirus Task Force fame is the highest paid employee in the federal government making almost $20,000 more per year than the president. When asked in an interview about his financial investment in the coronavirus vaccine, Dr. Faucci said, “I got zero! I am a government worker. I have a government salary.” It must be rough to be so impoverished. Jesus said in Luke 12:15, “…a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.” What matters in life is not what one has, but what one does with what he has. Everything we have has come from God, and we are to use what God has given us to honor and serve Him. Our salary does not define us—our Savior does; however, when you give the Savior your heart, you give Him your wallet, too.
