Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. I am glad the United States does not have a monarchy. Our founding fathers reacted against having a monarchy giving us a powerful yet limited President instead; however, I have enjoyed watching all of the pomp and pageantry surrounding the ascension of Prince Charles to King Charles III upon the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II. Charles Philip Arthur George was not chosen by the British to be king because of his personal qualities leadership abilities: he was born into the position. Likewise, King Charles’ sons may become kings one day because it is their birthright. So it is in the Kingdom of God. We are not chosen to be citizens of the Kingdom based on our abilities or qualities—we are born again into the Kingdom by God’s grace. In John 3:3, Jesus said, “…except a man be born again , he cannot see the Kingdom of God.” Four verses later, Jesus re-emphasized His point by saying, “Ye must be born again.” Prince Charles was born to be king of England, and we are born again to be royals in the Kingdom of God. Have you been born again? If not, God is not your Father, Jesus is not your Savior, The Holy Spirit is not your Comforter, and you are not a citizen of the Kingdom of God.
