Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Friday, August 7, 2020. I have shared some “crooks are stupid” stories in the past, but I am calling this one, “crooks are inexplicable.” A thief in Iowa broke into several businesses looking for items of value to steal. What caught my eye was when the criminal smashed the glass doors of a bank in Sioux City, entered the closed bank, and made off with…wait for it…a bottle of hand sanitizer! The man is now in jail being charged with breaking and entering and Grand Theft Sanitizer. Hand sanitizer has never been more important than it is during these cornoavirus times; however, the stuff is now readily available and does not require risking jail time to get it. Psalm 24:3 asks the question, “Who shall ascend into the hill of the Lord or who shall stand in his holy place?” and verse 4 answers the question with, “He that hath clean hands and a pure heart…” Clean hands are important, but a pure heart is what matters to God. There is only one way to have a pure heart, and that is to invite Jesus Christ to come into your heart and clean it up purifying it with His amazing grace.
