Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Al Gore, climate activist and self-proclaimed climate guru, recently said, “When every night on the TV news is like a nature hike through the Book of Revelation, that builds demands for meaningful action.” What he means is that whenever there is bad weather, mankind has somehow caused it. I don’t know what Al Gore is now, but he was a Southern Baptist when he was Vice-President and ran for President, so he must certainly know that bad weather goes all the way back to Genesis chapter seven and Noah’s flood. There has always been bad weather, and there always will be—regardless of how much money governments spend trying to change it. Is Al Gore right that bad weather is like The Book of Revelation? Here are a few devastations just from Revelation 16 alone: all sea life is destroyed; the entire fresh water supply is poisoned; intense sunlight scorches the planet; global darkness follows the scorching; a massive earthquake destroys entire cities and causes mountains and islands to be covered; and a hailstorm with 130 pound hailstones. So is Al Gore concerned about climate change? Maybe. Is he being over-dramatic? Definitely. Believe what you will about the weather, but when you bring God’s Word into the discussion, make sure you know what it says!
