Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. It is logical to assume that twins share the same birthday; however, there is a one in two million chance that they won’t. This was the recent case in California. Alfredo Antonio Trujillo was born at 11:45pm on New Year’s Eve; his twin sister, Aylin Yolanda Trujillo, was born 15 minutes later at midnight on New Year’s Day. Alfredo was the last baby born in 2021, and Aylin was the first baby born in 2022 at the Natividad Medical Center. In the United States, about 120,000, twins are born annually representing 3% of all births. Twins are nothing new: the most famous twins were probably Esau and Jacob whom we meet in Genesis 25:25-26. Jacob’s line would produce the twelve tribes of Israel and ultimately Jesus Christ. Jesus chose a twin as one of His disciples: Thomas. We call him “Doubting Thomas,” but his friends called him “Twin.” John 20:24 states, “But Thomas, one of the twelve called Didymus, was not with them when Jesus came”; Didymus means, “Twin.” This verse informs us that Thomas was not with the other disciples on the first Easter night; however, eight days later, Thomas was with the other disciples when Jesus again appeared to them; seeing Jesus, Thomas replies in John 20:28, “My Lord and My God,” one of Scripture’s most direct declarations of the divinity of Christ.
