God’s Grace with Gary 12/2/21

Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Friday, September 18, 2020. The face is the most recognizable feature of the human body. God has designed each of us with a unique face—even identical twins. God also has a face, but He would not let Moses see it. Jesus is God, so people who met Jesus in person saw His face. Ever since the coronavirus interrupted our lives, we have had to cover our faces. The research is still out on the effectiveness of wearing face masks, and there are strong opinions on both sides of the issue, but I have seen some very creative face mask designs. I think the ones with an open mouth full of teeth are my favorite—or at least they were until Wednesday. I read an article about a man who wrapped a large, live pet snake around his mouth and nose to serve as his mask while he rode the public bus. I have previously told you that I love snakes; however, I would never wear one as a mask! The transportation authority in this particular region requires all passengers to wear a face mask, but they did not approve of the snake mask. The official statement from the authority was that governmental guidelines offer some flexibility as to the mask that one chooses to wear, however, “we do not believe it extends to the use of snakeskin—especially when still attached to the snake.”
