Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. I’m not much into superhero movies, but I have seen a few in my time. I did enjoy the Batman TV series with Adam West, however. There is a new Batman movie out now called “The Batman”; it is supposed to break box office records. At a showing in Austin, Texas, over the weekend, moviegoers got more than they paid for: they got to watch “The Batman” while a live bat circled inside the theater and swooped down on them. It turns out that one of the theater patrons brought the bat and released it as a prank. In order to remove the actual bat, the movie was paused and animal control was brought in; however, the specialists were unable to capture the bat. I have captured a few bats that got into the house over the years; they are generally harmless, but the Schneider girls are all deathly afraid of them. Debbie says they are just mice with wings! Bats are the only mammals that can fly, but we don’t know if God created them on day five along with the birds or on day six when the land mammals were created. If you like bananas, avocados, mangoes, and chocolate, you can thank bats—over 300 species of fruit depend on bats for pollination. You may already know that the Old Testament forbids the eating of bats in Leviticus 11:19; while Christians are not bound by Hebrew dietary laws, I’m actually good with this one!
