Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Debbie and I are adoptive parents. We adopted our two older children when they were four & five years old. From childhood on, I had always hoped to adopt children; having done so, I highly recommend it. The adoption process can be frustrating and expensive, but the end result is worth it. The Apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 1:3-4 that believers are chosen and adopted by God. We are natural-born sinners and belong to our father, the devil; however, God graciously chooses us and adopts us into His family. This is how adoption works: the parents choose the children—not the other way around. Once adopted, the adopted children have all of the same privileges and rights of biological children—including inheritance rights. Adoption can be expensive, and that was certainly the case with God Who paid for our adoption with the death of His only Son, Jesus Christ. Being a child of God has eternal benefits; according to Romans 8:16-17, “…we are the children of God, and if children then heirs: heirs of God and joint-heirs with Christ…” What does the Godhead own that is our inheritance? Everything!
