Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. An important local and national news story involves a nuclear engineer and his school teacher wife attempting to sell submarine secrets to a foreign power. As it turns out, the information was sold to an undercover FBI agent, instead. The first data drop was put on an SD computer chip and concealed in half a peanut butter sandwich; the second data drop was put on an SD computer chip and concealed in a Band-Aid wrapper; the third data drop was put on an SD computer chip and concealed in a package of chewing gum…sneaky Espionage is nothing new, and this kind of thing probably happens all the time—we just never hear about it. Even the Bible has spies, the most famous of which were the group of twelve who went into the Promised Land to check it out. Upon their return, ten of the the spies declared that the land was amazing, but that the Israelites would never be able to conquer it. The other two spies, Joshua and Caleb, reminded the people that God can do anything. Tragically, the people listened to the ten instead of the two, trusting man instead of God, and, consequently, had to wander around the wilderness for forty years. If only they had known Psalm 118:8, the literal center verse of the Bible, as we do, “It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man.”
