Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Monday, June 15, 2020. What’s in a name? Washington DC’s mayor had “Black Lives Matter” painted in giant letters on one of the streets in her city; the letters are so large, they can literally be seen from space in satellite images. The mayor also named an intersection “Black Lives Matter Plaza.” As mayor, I suppose it is her right to do this; however, a lawsuit claiming her orders are exclusionary has been filed against her actions. The lawsuit states that in addition to “Black Lives Matter,” “Green Lives Matter,” and “Blue Lives Matter” should be added to cover The National guard and police forces. The lawsuit further demands that “Black Lives Matter Plaza” be renamed to “Jesus is the Answer Plaza.” Wow, that’s a lot. Suffice it to say that the lawsuit probably isn’t going anywhere. While I do agree that black lives matter, so do all lives—including those still in the womb. I would love to see these current protesters demand that abortion clinics cease and desist their activity. While no lives matter in abortion clinics, statistics show that is one place where black lives especially do not matter.
