Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. The phrase, “Make it rain,” has come to mean making a lot of money; however, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, they are spending a lot of money to make it rain—literally. Receiving an average of only four inches of rain per year, Dubai is changing that and cooling off their 120 degree days at the same time. Starting with God-given clouds, scientists have figured out how to use drones and electrical charges to clump the clouds together causing them to produce rain. The technique, known as cloud seeding, works, but perhaps it works a little too well: in some cases, the drones have caused so much rain that areas have flooded. Like they say, “When it rains, it pours.” Rain has always been important to agrarian societies, such as existed in Bible times; that is why rain—or the lack thereof—is so prevalent in the Scriptures. Consider too much rain in Genesis 7, Elijah’s lack of rain in I Kings 17, “Showers of blessing” in Ezekiel 34:26, and God’s making it rain on the just and the unjust in Matthew 5:45. The water cycle, of which rain is a critical component, is a simple yet amazing creation of God without which life on earth could not exist. You evolutionists who think you have mankind’s origins figured out, how did the lifeless water cycle know when and how to evolve to support spontaneous life? Without God, this is a statistical impossibility.
