Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. Today’s “Throwback Thursday” is from Friday, August 21, 2020. We don’t generally think of snow in the Holy Land, but there is mention of snow in the Bible; in fact, the Bible references snow 25 times throughout its many pages but only in 3 capacities: color, cleansing, and climate. My favorite reference to snow is probably Psalm 51:7 where David writes, “wash me and I shall be whiter than snow”; I also love the hymn, “Whiter than Snow” based on this same verse. Something the Bible does not address is chocolate snow. It seems a ventilator problem in a chocolate factory in Switzerland malfunctioned and began spewing fine particles of fine chocolate on the town. Coupled with strong winds, the chocolate snow covered everything in its path. Not surprisingly, there were no complaints from the affected citizens. The company assured the town that the chocolate snow was not dangerous, and the town declared the incident to be delicious!
