Hello, this is pastor gary from first baptist church of laplata. On this day in history, the first ever submarine attack was carried out. An American submarine named “Turtle,” attempted to place an explosive charge on the British ship, “Eagle,” in New York Harbor; while the attack failed, it was still the first. On September 7 of what year did this submarine attack occur? 1776. The first submarine attack happened during the American Revolutionary War! Who knew? The wooden, hand-powered Turtle was eight feet long and could hold a total crew of one. Submarines have come a long way since 1776, but they are still a dangerous way to travel. People were not created to live underwater, but countless other creatures were; God created these underwater animals on day five along with the birds. Genesis 1:20 reads, “And God said, ‘Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth…’” God filled the seas with animate life in such astounding variety that scientists are still discovering, naming, and classifying new species. God is an amazing Creator and is worthy to be praised for His amazing Creation!
